Roulette has been in existence since the advent of gambling in casinos as we know it. And the surprising thing is that we are yet to master it fully. All we can do is rely on roulette strategies finely honed over the years by those who play it best.

While some strategies are laid-back with pocket-sized returns, others are aggressive, requiring you to stake high for high returns. Before we take a look at them, you must take some time to understand the roulette basics. Now, back to the strategies.

1.  Martingale

Coming in first as the most popular is Martingale, which requires you to double your bet every time you lose. The belief here is that you will eventually win and therefore break even or make a profit in the end even if you start from one dollar. This particular strategy requires a lot of patience, working particularly well with even number bets such as 0-18 or odd/even.

2.  Fibonacci

The Fibonacci strategy is a system of numbers followed by the player, where each bet placed is a sum of the two that precede it. It might seem riskier than Martingale, but it is the best for a person who likes to play it safe. It also works best with even number bets.

3.  Labouchère System

This betting strategy requires you to increase your bet every time you lose. You must, however, decide how much you want to win and then subdivide it into multiple stakes, for example, 1-1-2-2-1-2-1 for a $10 win. After accomplishing that, proceed to sum up the numbers at each end to get the amount you should stake the first time. $2 in this case (1+1). If you happen to win, cross out the numbers and move to the two that follow. If it’s a loss, add the lost bet to the right side of the sequence and restart.

There is also the reverse labouchère system, which follows a similar pattern, but in reverse. The ultimate goal in both of these systems is to cross out all the numbers in the sequence.

4.  Andrucci System

By far the most optimistic of all, the Andrucci system reasons that all numbers should win at some point. And to put it into practice, the player notes down the winning numbers of 30-35 rounds. They then pick a random number from the noted down numbers as likely to win and stick to it, maybe 20 to 25 takes, or until it wins.

5.  D’Alembert System

The direction taken by a player following this strategy depends on whether they win or lose. If you decide to bet $2 and win, the next bet will be $1. If you happen to lose, on the other hand, you will place $3 for the next round. As you can see, the system requires you to increase or decrease the stake by one unit depending on whether you win or lose.

Conclusion

You can find other roulette betting strategies out there, but these are by far the safest and easy to implement. Happy spinning!
